Well, one of the most difficult part living in England is that sometimes you have no clue what to do on weekends. It's boring! Everyone goes partying all the time. Well as for me I don't drink, but I love listening to music only if the music is my kind of rhythm. Unfortunately it's not. Also the weather prohibits you to go out at night! No, I will not suffer myself in the cold just for that.
Anyways as I was saying, my friend finally got us something to do. She bought this coupons/ voucher (idk from where) to Newcastle Paintball Center run by Delta Force. We only paid 16pnd (for the game with 200 paintball pellets) + 7pnd (extra 100 pellets). So a total of 23pnd for 12 games and 300 pellets. Now That is a good bargain!
Look at us, all dressed up in our army suits ;p
So we meet up at 9 am at the paintball center, registered ourselves, got ourselves overalls/ head mask/ hopper and armor vest (if you need one). Got ourselves ready and begin the game at approx 10.30 am.
Everyone ready for briefing
We had 12 games overall, I can't remember their exact names but here goes.
Game 1 & 2: Teams start from one end and the other. Mission is to get into the church to save Dave. (Dave is a skull head sitting quietly inside the church). So first one to save Dave wins the game!
Game 3 & 4: One team will be in the castle, one team will be far end outside the castle's yard. Mission is to raise the flag of the other team situated at the castle. Once the flag is raised, team wins!
Game 5 & 6: There are 6 or 7 huts at the game zone. Each team starts at opposite ends. Mission is to conquer as many huts you can. Points are accumulated for each hut they conquer.
Game 7 & 8: This game is the most uninteresting for me. Basically you kill each member of your enemy. Each member being shot is out from the game. So the first to take out all members win.
Game 9 & 10: This game teaches you to somehow to defend your castle. One team will be inside the castle, while the enemy will be far away from the castle's yard. The attacking team will attack each member of the defensing team until each member dies. If they do so, the attacking team wins the game.
Game 11 & 12: This is probably the longest game of all that I mentioned. Each team need to protect their flag from being stolen by the enemy. Team A will try to steal team B's flag. If they do they are awarded points. And if they're able to bring the flag back to their own territory, bonus points will be given. Obviously each team are NOT allowed to touch or hide their own flag.
The church where we had to save Dave
Each game has their own value of points, and basically if you are the attacker for game 1, game 2 you'll be the defender. Basically swapping what your roles were.
I had fun. A lot of fun even though getting hit is probably the most painful thing I've ever experienced. It stings sooo bad. But it goes away really quickly. Just avoid letting people shoot you at a close distance. Btw, you're only allowed to shoot others at a safe distance of 100 meters.
Lunch madness!
All in all was good. Game ended around 3.45 pm. Lunch was at 12.30 pm till 1.00 pm ++
One thing I would compliment this place is that they have a full suit for you to wear, so you don't have to worry about bringing extra clothes! They have pizza if you wanna order from them but you can also bring your own lunch. Wear good shoes as you'll be running a lot. Preferable ankle length so you won't get your ankles sprained or anything. Face mask MUST be worn all the time in the field or you'll just be sent off for the entire day.
Our Marshall for the day, Chris and Dan :)
Those were selected top 3 best shooters in the field!
What else?
I guess that's probably it. Bring cash coz they don't accept card I think. I might be wrong but just in case. Don't forget to have fun! Not being shot at is no fun seriously! but being shot at all the time is no fun either haha. Btw, bruises will be gone by the third or fourth day xp
